MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/14/13) – This year’s Job Expo was held at the Madisonville Community College from 10:00am-2:00pm. Job seekers were able to meet face-to-face with employers in their area and had a chance to participate in a Q&A session.
Job Seekers were dressed to impress and had their up-to-date resumes when they greeted a potential employer to discuss future employment. Local Human Resources representatives were on-site to promote job opportunities, give advice and do on the spot interviewing.
This year there were 50 employers that signed up to participate in this Job Expo.
Ann Oldham, Business Liaison for the West Kentucky Workforce, at the JobNet Career Center stated, “This is absolutely a wonderful opportunity for anyone whose looking for a job or to get a better job. They get to meet 50 employers all in one place, to be able to talk to them one-on-one, which sometimes you can’t even get in to see an H.R. Manager. But we have 50 of them right here at the tables without an appointment and interviews on-site. So we want people to come out, dressed to impress and take advantage of this opportunity.”
This event was sponsored by: Madisonville Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, Murray State University, West Kentucky Workforce Investment Board, Office of Employment and Training, Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation, ACE2 (Adult Centers for Educational Excellence), Baptist Health, Madisonville Community College, and Midwest KY SHRM.
