School Board Meets for Luncheon Meeting

owensboro public schoolsOWENSBORO, Ky. (5/22/13) –Owensboro Public School officials spent their time at the OPS Board of Education’s weekly luncheon on Tuesday updating the school board on proceedings within the district. With the end of the school year just around the corner, the board also prepared its agenda for Thursday’s monthly school board meeting.

The agenda will consist of board recognition of the 2013 Regional Academic All Stars, OHS’ 100 years of accreditation with SACS, the 2013 OPS Bus Driver of the Year, and the 2013 KY Director of Pupil Personnel of the Year. Members will also consider approval of the Orders of the Treasurer, the new district budget, and the maintenance bids covering the Fencing Bid, Floor Covering bid, and the State Contract Price to buy a new mower for district use.

Thursday’s meeting will also consider approval of personnel actions, the OPS Foundation for Excellence MOU, an amendment to the 2013-2014 SY Calendar, the Community Eligibility Option, and cancellation of the June 27 regular meeting in lieu of a special called Board Meeting on June 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the central office.
