MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/31/13) – The Pride Elementary School Site-Based Council has selected Kristy Saint as the school’s new principal.
For the past four years, Saint has served as curriculum coordinator at Hanson Elementary School. She was a teacher at the school from 1994-2009.
“I accept this position with absolute excitement,” Saint said. “I look forward to working alongside the Pride Falcon team. It will be an honor to lead this amazing group.” The announcement was made Friday morning during an SBDM meeting at the central office.
Saint earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Western Kentucky University, a master’s degree in elementary education from Murray State University, and a master’s degree in instructional leadership – principal from University of the Cumberlands.
She will succeed Cristy Tomes, who is retiring.
“I can’t wait to meet the students and parents,” Saint said. “I also know that with Mrs. Tomes leaving, that I have big shoes to fill.”
Saint was named Hopkins County Schools Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2012. She is listed in Who’s Who Among American Teachers and Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women in Teaching and Education.
