Police Standoff on Theresa Lane in Madisonville

arrest bourland 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/16/13) – The Madisonville Police Department (MPD) has reported an incident involving a standoff resulting from a domestic violence situation.

According to MPD officials, in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 16, 2013, MPD responded to 1600 Theresa Lane in regards to a possible Domestic Violence situation.  Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with 31-year-old Brian K. Bourland, identified as the male subject in the Domestic situation.

During the attempted communication, Bourland barricaded himself inside the residence. MPD Emergency Response Team was called to the scene. As time progressed, officers on the scene were able to de-escalate the situation and take Bourland into custody.

Bourland was charged with Assault, Terroristic Threatening and Resisting Arrest.
