Robbery 01 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/20/13) – The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has released further information on an armed robbery that took place in Madisonville on Wednesday, June 19.

According to Sheriff’s Office officials, Deputy Ryan Bailey located a vehicle involved in the armed robbery as the suspects were leaving the area of the robbery. Bailey stopped the vehicle on Dulin Street and a subject exited the vehicle as it was still moving. The subject continued to flee on foot as Bailey held the other three occupants in the vehicle while assistance arrived. Once the three vehicle occupants were secured, Deputy Jamie Lampton and his K9, “Kane,” were requested by the Madisonville Police Department to locate the subject who fled on foot.

Deputy Lampton and Kane were able to locate and apprehend the subject in a wooded area off Dulin Street inside the perimeter established by the Madisonville Police Department.

On Wednesday, June 19, local law enforcement officials were dispatched to a reported armed robbery in progress at 1108 Southland Court in Madisonville.

The victim reported that two men had entered his apartment and put a pistol to his head, taking several items from the residence. The victim also stated that the men had pointed the pistol at several young relatives that were staying with him as well.
 
Units from Madisonville Police Department (MPD) and Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were able to apprehend three suspects fleeing the scene on Dulin Street, and a fourth that fled on foot in a wooded area.
 
The suspects were interviewed by a MPD Detective. Continued investigation revealed probable cause and that the suspects were truly involved in the robbery.
 
Stolen property from the residence was recovered from the suspects’ vehicle.
 
Three males and a juvenile male were all charged with Robbery, 1st Degree.
 
Those arrested were 19-year-old Derrick Jenkins of Louisville, KY, 23-year-old Richard Conn of Louisville, 21-year-old Traviel Civils of Pride Avenue in Madisonville and a male juvenile.
