surfky weather cloudy 300KENTUCKY (6/26/13) – The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather warning for Hopkins, Muhlenberg, and Christian Counties, along with other surrounding areas.

A complex of thunderstorms is forecast to move into the region today, bringing with it a chance of heavy rain. During the afternoon hours, as the atmosphere becomes increasingly unstable, there is a chance of strong winds, severe storms and possibly large damaging hail.

Overall, there is a fifty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon area, with a high around 89 degrees and a heat index likely topping at over 100. Wind gusts are expected to top 20 MPH off and on throughout the day.
