County Attorney Requests Bond Increase in Hann Case

arrest hannMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/3/13) – Recently, a former Madisonville school teacher was arrested in a case involving charges of Sex with a Minor.

Samuael Hann, 24, a former teacher at Browning Springs Middle School, as well as a former coach at other local Hopkins County schools, was arrested on July 1, 2013, by the Madisonville Police Department. On July 2, Hann was released on a $5,000 bond.

Today, July 3, Hopkins County Attorney Todd P’Pool has issued a request that Judge Whitledge reconsider the bond.

“I want the citizens to know that my office does not agree with the decision to release this defendant from custody with a signature bond,” said P’Pool. “He has been charged with four felonies, including using a 14-year-old minor in a sexual performance, a Class B Felony, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.”

P’Pool went on to state that he would make every effort to return Hann to custody by filing a motion to increase the current bond.

Citizens that have possible information in this case are free to contact the Hopkins County Attorney’s Office at 270-821-3164, or the Madisonville Police Department at 270-821-1720.
