Back-to-School Open Houses Planned

back to school1 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (7/19/13) – Schools throughout the Hopkins County district are planning open houses and orientation events as the start of the school year approaches.
 
Here is the schedule for each school:
 
Browning Springs Middle School – 6th Grade Orientation, July 30, 3:30-6 p.m.; 7th and 8th Grade Orientation, Aug. 1, 3:30-6 p.m.
 
Earlington Elementary School – Kindergarten Open House, Aug. 1, 5-7 p.m.; Open House for grades 1-5, Aug. 5, 5-7 p.m.
 
Grapevine Elementary School – Kindergarten Orientation, July 25, 6-7:30 p.m.; K-5 Open House, July 30, 5:30-7 p.m.
 
Hanson Elementary School – Kindergarten Orientation (without students), Aug. 1, 5:30-6:30 p.m.; Kindergarten Meet and Greet, Aug. 5, 2-2:30 p.m.; Orientation for 1st and 2nd grades, Aug. 5, 5:30 p.m.; Orientation for 3rd through 5th grades, 7 p.m.
 
Hopkins County Schools Academy – Open House for parents and students, Aug. 7, 7:30 a.m. Coffee and donuts will be available for parents and students, and staff members will be available to answer questions.
 
Hopkins County Central – Senior Registration, July 25, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; Juniors, July 26, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; Sophomores, July 30, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; Freshmen, July 31, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; New Student Registration by appointment only, Aug. 2 (Please call the school at 825-6133). Air Force JROTC Freshmen Orientation, July 25-26, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
 
James Madison Middle School – 6th Grade Orientation, July 30, 6-7:30 p.m.; 7th and 8th Grade Schedule Pick-Up, Aug. 1, 5-7 p.m.
 
Jesse Stuart Elementary School – Open House/Orientation, Aug. 5, 6 p.m.
 
Madisonville North Hopkins High School – Seniors, July 22; Juniors, July 23; Sophomores, July 25; and Freshmen, July 26, all from 9-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3 p.m. Freshman Orientation, Aug. 1, 8-11 a.m. New student registration will be July 29-30 by appointment only. Please call the school at 825-6017. Students who cannot come on their day may pick up their schedules the following week, starting July 29, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
 
Pride Elementary School – Open House/Orientation, Aug. 1, 5:30 p.m.
 
South Hopkins Middle School – 6th Grade Orientation, July 29, 5-7 p.m.; 7th and 8th Grade Open House, July 30, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Anyone who is not able to attend on their date will get their schedule on the first day of school.
 
Southside Elementary School – Open House, Aug. 5, 5-7 p.m.
 
West Broadway Elementary School – Kindergarten Orientation (parents/guardians only), July 23, 5:30 p.m.; Open House, Aug. 5, 5-6 p.m.
 
West Hopkins School – Open House, Aug. 5, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
