Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle at Ideal Market

pedestrian auto accident 01 blue 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/26/13) – On Thursday, July 25, at approximately 1:15 PM, Madisonville Police Officers were dispatched to the scene of a reported vehicle versus pedestrian incident at Ideal Market, located at 1640 North Main Street in Madisonville.
 
Once on the scene, officers found that 39-year-old Jermaine Taylor of North Harrig Street was walking across the parking lot while 56-year-old John Plunkett, of Island Ford Road, was backing out of the parking spot to exit the station. Plunkett was operating a 2008 Toyota Tundra.
 
According to Plunkett, he checked his mirrors but did not see Taylor crossing the area and backed into him, knocking Taylor to the ground.
 
Taylor was transported from the scene to Baptist Health ER for non-life threatening injuries.
 
The Madisonville Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Madisonville Fire Department.
