HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (7/26/13) – Ann Elkins has been named the new principal of Grapevine Elementary School.
The Grapevine Elementary School Site-Based Council made the announcement during a meeting Fri-day, July 26.
“I am tremendously excited about this new opportunity,” Elkins said. “I look forward to working with the students, staff and parents of Grapevine Elementary.
“I want this to be a positive experience as we all work together, focusing on collaboration, communication and excellence on behalf of students,” she said.
Elkins most recently served as Pride Elementary School’s curriculum consultant, a position she had held since 2009. She worked at Pride for the past 14 years, previously serving as a kindergarten, 1st grade and 4th grade teacher, and Title 1 coordinator. She had also been a lead preschool teacher for Audubon Area Head Start.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Kentucky University, a master’s degree and Rank I in general education K-12 from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a second master’s degree in school administration from Murray State University.
