cram car1MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/12/13) – On Saturday, August 10, the Madisonville Police Department stepped forward to help local students in need by performing the Cram the Car event.

Each year MPD officers set up outside of Walmart and K-Mart in an attempt to urge local citizens to donate school items for Hopkins County students whose parents are going through financial difficulties. Last year was a great success for MPD in this event, and this year was just as successful. The only difference this year was that the same goals were reached with much less time invested.

According to MPD official Jason Lutz, around $6000.00 worth of supplies and cash donations were provided by local citizens, all collected within 4 hours, a time frame that has been unseen until now.
