Morton’s Gap Resident Flees from Sheriff’s Deputies

arrest chaseHOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (8/15/13) – On Wednesday, August 14, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Bailey observed a light blue Saturn passenger car on Princeton Street in St. Charles, operated by 22-year-old William Hawkins of Mortons Gap.
 
At the time Hawkins had an active warrant for his arrest in Hopkins County along with having a suspended operator’s license.
 
Deputy Bailey activated his emergency equipment, at which time Hawkins sped up, leading Deputy Bailey on a short vehicle pursuit.
 
Hawkins was later located at a trailer at 90 Teague Bean Street in St. Charles.
 
Hawkins was arrested without further incident.
 
Also in the trailer, Deputies located 31-year-old Joseph Franklin, who was wanted as a fugitive by the U.S. Marshals Service.
 
Franklin and Hawkins were both lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
