Jenny Beth Willis is Christmas Parade Grand Marshal

christmas parade2 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (9/3/13) – Each year the Owensboro-Daviess County Parade Association, Inc. committee spends countless hours sifting through nominations and suggestions for its Grand Marshal, looking for someone who has “put Owensboro on the map” in a positive way, or someone who has made a contribution to our great community.

This year the parade committee chose Jenny Beth Willis for that honor, the association announced today. At just 18 years old, Jenny Beth recently made it to the Top 40 finalists for the 2013 season of the hit TV show American Idol out of the tens of thousands that auditioned. Jenny Beth tried out for the show over a period of four months, which included auditions in both Hollywood and Las Vegas.

The Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade Association, Inc. will present the 77th Annual Christmas parade themed “It’s All About The Child” Saturday afternoon, Nov. 23.

The public is invited to attend the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Downtown Owensboro, “where Kentucky starts Christmas,” in congratulating Jenny Beth and wish her the best in the years to come.
