MADISONVILLE, Ky. (10/14/13) – It was a ghoulish, grisly and sometimes gruesome scene as walkers took part in the fourth annual Zombie Walk Saturday, Oct. 12 through downtown Madisonville.
There were zombie mothers and daughters, zombie dads and sons and entire zombie families joining in the fun.
Organizers were accepting donations for the Hopkins County Humane Society as part of the event. Big Biting Pig Productions and the Sugg Street Post organized the free event, which helped raise money and supplies for the humane society.
The walk began between West Center and Sugg streets and culminated at the steps of the Hopkins County Courthouse.
At the same time, Madisonville was truly hopping Saturday night as local art galleries held their doors open for quick peeps and leisurely shopping.
The Downtown Gallery Hop provided the backdrop for a diverse mix of mediums from hand painted artwork to retro-visited furniture.
Live music was available and the downtown area's five restaurants were open for those who wanted to feast on more than art and entertainment.
The Gallery Hop has become a focus of downtown happenings over the past summer.
