Marching Maroons Making their Way to the 4A State Semi Finals

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (10/15/13) – The 2013 Madisonville North Hopkins Marching Maroons under the direction of director Randy Adams, assistant directors Alan Emerson and Cory Mullins and Color Guard directors Katie Herrenbruck and Sarah Emerson.

The 2013 show titled "Mirage" featuring "Scheherazade", "Dominion of Sand" and" Egyptian Danza" with a total of 108 band members. The Madisonville Marching Maroons traveled to Murray, Kentucky for the annual Murray State "Festival of Champions" last Saturday. In prelims they came in 1st place in their 4A division and was awarded Overall Best Percussion. They competed against 11 other bands in the finals competition and was awarded Grand Champion, Best Music Performance and Best Marching.

 

This coming Saturday the Marching Maroons will travel to Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the Hopkinsville Stadium of Champions to perform in the class 4A West Regional competition. There will be a total of 13 bands competing for one of the top 8 spots to advance to the class 4A State Semi Finals which will be held on October 26th in Louisville where there will be 16 bands competing for the top 4 spots competing for the title of class 4A State Champions at Papa John's Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky that evening.
 
The Marching Maroons have won 8 consecutive State Titles. So far this marching season the Marching Maroons have been awarded in Marshall County, Class 4A Best Percussion, Best Color Guard and 1st place and Overall Grand Champion as well as Overall Percussion. At Hopkins County Centrals "Storm Marching Band Classic" they were awarded in Class 4A, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard and 1st Place as well as Overall Grand Champion. They were the only band that competed that was awarded a distinguished rating with their score from their performance.
