Madisonville Council Approves Road Closures for this Coming Weekend

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (10/22/13) – The Madisonville City Council agreed to street closures for the upcoming weekend to accommodate local festivities.

During its meeting Monday, Oct. 21, the council approved closing Logan Street from Noel to Franklin from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 for First Baptist Church's annual Trunk or Treat Party.

Al McFarland’s request was approved for the closure of Lunsford Street from Arch to Oates on from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 for the annual Halloween Bash.

In other business, a review and request made by the Wastewater Treatment Department was approved to advertise for the furnishings and installation of a steel casing pipe for sewer lines that will cross P&L and CSX for the Hopkins County Sports Complex.

Requests made by the Engineering Department were approved to advertise for proposals for the spray park ground at Festus Clayborn Park.

Approval was granted for the water department to purchase a Hoe Ram excavator.

A proclamation was made by Mayor David Jackson in declaring Oct. 21-25 as Kentucky Professional Women’s Week in the city of Madisonville.
