The Animals Need You…

rr damage2

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (11/1/13) - Rowdy Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue in Slaughters, Kentucky. Since 2008, Rowdy Rescue has saved the lives of over 500 animals ranging from strays to pets in kill shelters. If you have ever had a pet you know of the unconditional love, compassion, and loyalty these furry companions bring into the lives of mankind.

Now, the animals need your compassion more than ever. During last night’s severe storms, high winds blew a sycamore tree onto five out of the six kennels on the property of Rowdy Rescue destroying them. The kennels that were destroyed housed up to eight dogs. In order for the rescue to continue to be a bridge to a new forever home for these animals, new kennels are needed ASAP.

If you can donate a chain link kennel or donate the money to purchase one to Rowdy Rescue, it would be greatly appreciated. To donate, please call 270-584-4499 or send a check payment to: Rowdy Rescue, P.O. Box 94, Slaughters, Ky. 42456. You can also email them at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Remember that all donations are tax deductible.

Rowdy Rescue is always looking for people to foster as well. Fostering a pet makes such a big difference in the lives of these animals, in that it gives them a comfortable and loving temporary home.

Looking for a fur baby to call your own? Go to rowdyrescue.petfinder.com or their Facebook page and check out their pets looking for their forever home.

Animals are not property or “things’ but rather living organisms, subjects of a life, who are worthy of our compassion, respect, friendship, and support. - Marc Bekoff
