Man Arrested at Madisonville City Park

arrest jMADISONVILLE, Ky. (12/2/13) – Madisonville Police were dispatched to investigate the report of a suspicious man in the Madisonville City Park Dec. 1.

According to a Madisonville Police report, Officers Justin Jones and Russell Nichols responded to the park to find the subject at the Pro Shop. The report said the subject had bloodshot eyes and was refusing to follow orders. Jones reported he asked the subject to place his hands behind his back but he pulled away. Both officers then escorted the subject to the ground. In doing so, the subject then grabbed at Nichols' flashlight. After the subject was detained, he was read his Miranda Rights.

During a further investigation, Jones then noticed a bottle in plain sight that contained marijuana. The subject told Jones that he had another more potent marijuana that he had shoved it down his pants when he saw Jones pull up, the report said.

After the arrival to the jail, another bag of marijuana and rolling papers were found stuffed in the suspect's pants.

John Bradley Jowers was charged for public intoxication – controlled substance (excludes alcohol), resisting arrest, menacing, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia buy/possess, and tampering with physical evidence. Jowers is currently lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
