Stolen Vehicle, Trailer Recovered Same Day

arrest arndellANTON, Ky. (12/5/13) — After Madisonville Police Officer Justin Jones received a stolen vehicle report, Hopkins County Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Clark stopped the vehicle the same day and made the arrest.

According to a Sheriff's report, Jones received a complaint of a stolen vehicle Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 275 W. Center St., Madisonville. The complainant reported that a Yamaha Raptor ATV, a trailer and a maroon Ford Escort had been stolen from the parking lot. After Jones filed a report, he disseminated the information to surrounding police agencies.

At 10:29 p.m., Clark observed a vehicle with only one illuminated headlight traveling west on Anton Road. After stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver, Clark received information from Central Dispatch that the vehicle matched the one reported stolen.

Clark reported that after he had read the driver his rights, he admitted to stealing the vehicle and told the deputies where to find the four wheeler and trailer but then changed his mind about cooperating.

Deputies Clark, Ryan Bailey and Heath Owens discovered the trailer at the YAA Baseball Field but has not yet recovered the Yamaha Raptor. The recovered property was returned to the owner.

Clark charged Jimmy Arndell, Jr., 32, of 1161 Martin Road, Clinton, Ky., with receiving stolen property under $10,000 and operating on a suspended license.
