MADISONVILLE, Ky. (12/5/13) — A Hanson man was arrested for driving under the influence when he was stopped for pulling out in front of a Madisonville Police cruiser. After being taken to the Hopkins County Jail, he was also charged for possession of methamphetamine when a baggie of the controlled substance allegedly fell out of his shoe.
According to an MPD report, Officer Falon Graham had to throw on her brakes to avoid colliding with a vehicle being driven by Richard Dude Rickard at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 on North Main Street by the Ideal Station.
Rickard, 35, of Shakerag Road, failed three sobriety tests, the report said. He could not provide his driver's license when requested and a call to Central Dispatch alerted Graham that Rickard was wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft by deception/checks.
While Rickard was being processed at the Hopkins County Jail, a baggie of methamphetamine fell out of his shoe, the report said.
