MADISONVILLE, Ky. (12/12/13) – The Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville and MarketPlace continue "teaming up" for Cram the Cruiser.
KSP will be at MarketPlace from 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13 at 1771 South Main Street in Madisonville for the event. During this time, people are encouraged to “cram the cruiser” with non-perishable food items.
The food will be distributed to local shelters, churches or other organizations serving those in need during the holiday season. Suggested donations include canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, chili or spaghetti sauce, brownie and cake mixes, coffee, water, powdered milk and juices.
The Kentucky State Police kicked off their fourth annual ‘Cram the Cruiser’ food drive on Friday, Nov. 22. The campaign extends through Dec. 13 and is designed to collect non-perishable food items for needy families.
KSP Post 2, located on the Western Kentucky Parkway, is a food collection site.
Jordan and Son Barber Shop located on West Depot Street in Greenville is also a collection site.
During the 2012 campaign, the KSP collected more than 100,000 pounds of food.
