According to a Kentucky State Police report, Trooper Joseph Bartolotti observed a man in a white and blue Chevy truck spinning his tires at a stop sign at 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18. After Bartolotti engaged his emergency lights, the man sped off traveling on U.S. 41 for approximately a half mile before turning right onto West Walnut Street.
After stopping his truck, the man fled on foot but was apprehended by Bartolotti. He was placed under arrest without further incident at about 5:16 p.m.
Bartolotti charged Justin W. Goode, 23, with reckless driving, improper start from a parked position, first degree fleeing or evading police, DUI/third offense/aggravated, open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and failure to produce an insurance card.
He was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
