arrest goodMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/10/14) — A Madisonville man was charged with assault after police were summoned to a Princeton Road residence Thursday, Jan. 9 after a woman reported that her boyfriend had tried to stab her.

According to a Madisonville Police report officers made contact with the victim, who advised that her boyfriend punched her in the head and held her to the ground sitting on her upper body while continuously slamming her head to the floor.

The victim also told police that Anthony Darnell Goodrich, 32, held her arms down and took a knife and poked her repeatedly in the head and cut both her arms and fingers, then held the knife to her face taunting her saying he would kill her. She also reported that he stabbed both sides of the couch next to her head and that she feared he was going to kill her, the report said.

The victim was taken to the emergency room with several cuts and bruises.

Goodrich was charged with assault in the second degree and is currently lodged in the Hopkins County Jail on a $10,000 cash bail bond.
