Neighbor Restrains Intruder Until Police Arrive

ASSAULT alfredMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/13/14) — Like a good neighbor . . .

A resident of Eastside Lane restrained an intruder who had come into a neighbor's home through an unlocked window. The intruder allegedly began striking two of the occupants in the face Saturday, Jan. 11.

According to the Madisonville Police report, Austin Tyler Alfred, 19, allegedly entered his former girlfriend's home, where he committed the assaults.

An alert neighbor arrived and restrained Alfred until officers arrived, the report said.

Alfred is charged with burglary in the second degree and assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence with no visible injuries. He is currently being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
