MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/13/14) – A two-car collision ends with a Madisonville teen being sent to the hospital for injuries Wednesday, Feb. 12.
According to a Kentucky State Police report, the collision occurred at approximately 6:26 p.m. At the intersection of Park Avenue and East Center Street.
The report said that the preliminary investigation of the accident revealed that Audriana Coyazo, 17, of Madisonville, was operating a 2002 Dodge Intrepid westbound on East Center Street.
Laura Burton, 41, of Madisonville, was operating a 2008 Dodge Caravan eastbound on East Center Street.
Coyazo was attempting to make a left turn on Park Avenue and failed to yield to oncoming traffic, turning in front of Burton. Burton's vehicle struck the passenger side of Coyazo's vehicle.
Marissa Coyazo, 15, a passenger of Audriana Coyazo, was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
Audriana Coyazo and her other passenger, Lindsey Sutton, 16, of Madisonville, and Laura Burton and her passenger, Ezra Burton, 9, of Madisonville, were not injured and were all wearing seatbelts.
Trooper Jonathan Murphy investigated the collision.Trooper Nathan Craft, Madisonville Police Department and Medical Center EMS assisted at the scene.
