Security Alert Ends with Marijuana Arrest

LaKoyeaMadisonville Police arrested and charged LaKoyea Taishae Hardy with trafficking in marijuana, first offense, Thursday Feb.13.MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/14/14) — Madisonville Police responded to a home alarm call from a Spicer Avenue residence Thursday, Feb. 13.

According to the Madisonville Police report, officers arrived at the residence at the same time LaKoyea Taishae Hardy, 23, resident of the home did.

She advised officers that it was her house and opened the door for the officers to come in to make sure the security of the home was intact.

While entering the home, officers were overwhelmed by a marijuana odor and began to search the residence.

During the search, officers found several baggies of suspected marijuana on the floor in an upstairs bedroom, with several containers, digital scales and a duffle bag that was consistent with drug trafficking in plain sight, the report said.

When officers checked a downstairs closet, they retrieved a Kroger bag with a large quantity of cash. A search warrant was then obtained and all items were seized.

Hardy was charged with trafficking in marijuana, first offense.

She is currently being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
