MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/14/14) — A Madisonville couple is spending Valentine's Day together but separately as they're both being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.

Madisonville Police responded to a domestic dispute at a East Broadway residence Thursday, Feb. 13 that resulted in the couple being arrested.

According to the Madisonville Police report, before officers arrival, they were advised by a Kayleigh Anne Rubio-Faulk, 26, that her husband Brent Avery-Allen Faulk, 31, had entered the residence and broke her phone then held her down on the bed by grabbing her neck.

Brent had left by foot before the officers arrived to the residence but later turned himself in and admitted he put his hands on his wife in self-defense, the report said.

The report said that when the police finally made contact with the husband, they observed scratches on his face, a torn shirt and a bloody lip. Officers were also advised that the wife had scratched his face and kicked him in the mouth.

Kayleigh Rubio-Faulk was charged with assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence with minor injury.

Brent Faulk was charged with assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence with no visible injury.

Both are currently being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
