DUE TO HEAVY SNOWS IN WESTERN KENTUCKY...WIDESPREAD 6 TO 12 INCH SNOWFALL AMOUNTS HAVE HAULTED AREA TRAVEL. ISOLATED 15 INCH AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. Accident Injury 01 300BELTON, Ky. (2/19/14) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Union Ridge Road at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 approximately three miles south of Belton.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Rickey Piper, 55, of Big Rock, Tenn., was operating a 1993 Ford F-150 pickup truck westbound on Union Ridge Road. As he rounded a curve, his vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.

Piper was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper Jerrod Hearld investigated the collision.

The Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
