“We are here and available to assist in startup businesses,” said second vice president Phyllis Mason. “We support minority businesses that want to come in and set up shop, along with existing minority businesses.”
MEDC plans to increase the number of minority businesses in Hopkins County, provide microcosm of training opportunities, develop a stronger workforce by educating the community about current state initiatives, assist in business development, identify financial resources, and aid businesses and companies with cultural diversity strategic planning.
“Our main objective is improving our community,” said Mason. “We want to be a good driving force for these new businesses and help expand existing ones. That’s what we are here for, we encourage businesses to contact us with ideas and needs, we really want to hear from them.”To find out how the Minority Economic Development Council can help your business, call (270) 825-8900.
