Railroad Crossing Work Expected Mar. 3-7

RAILROAD crossing 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/28/14) — The City of Madisonville has announced a schedule for replacement of CSXT track at several railroad grade crossings for next week.

The CSXT project will span a north-south route parallel and adjacent to Main Street with work expected to take place from Monday, Mar. 3 to Friday, Mar. 7.

The general progression of the closings will be from south to north with different times at the individual crossings.

Beginning Monday, Mar. 3, the grade crossings affected will include: Jagoe Street, Lake Street, Broadway Avenue, Sugg Street, Center Street, Noel Avenue, North Street and Hospital Drive.

When a grade crossing is observed as closed, the public should consider that grade crossing closed for the entire day.

It is possible that a crossing could be closed overnight.

As a result of the work, expect to see increased railroad traffic at the McCoy Avenue grade crossing.
