According to a MPD report, upon arrival, the officer knocked on the subject's window in an attempt to wake him. After he woke up, he opened his door and a beer can was in plain view on the driver's floor board and a half consumed alcoholic beverage by the gear shift.
Police then asked the subject, Timothy L. Cox, 49, of Owensboro, if he drove the car to its current location, Cox said "yes", according to MPD.
Upon arrest, Cox pulled three Endocet pills from his pocket and tried to conceal them in his left hand.
Cox was charged with possession of open alcohol beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs .08 second offense, prescription container substance not in original container first offense, and possession of a controlled substance first degree first offense.He is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
