MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/14/14) — Madisonville Police observed a vehicle traveling north on Main Street following another vehicle closely at an unsafe distance Thursday, March 13.
According to the Madisonville police report, upon contact with Johnathan Damon Hogan, 23, officers noticed he was not wearing a seatbelt and also noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Officers also observed Hogan had bloodshot, glossy eyes and a slurred speech.
During a sobriety test, Hogan’s performance indicated impairment on all tests.
Officers noticed an open Smirnoff Ice in the front seat cup holder and empty beer bottles in the passenger floorboard, the report said.
Hogan admitted to police having three to four beers prior to getting into his vehicle.
Hogan was charged with following another vehicle too closely, failure to wear seatbelt, possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.He is currently being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
