Registration Open for 'Welcome to the Wild West' Spring Day Camp

camping kidsOWENSBORO, Ky. (3/19/14) – Registration is now being accepted for the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department’s Spring Day Camp.

The theme will be "Welcome to the Wild West."

Bring your cowgirl/boy hats and boots and be ready to ride to the sunset. Party Ponies is coming to visit at camp Wednesday for pony rides and an educational class.

The Day Camp program is the only traditional day camp in the state of Kentucky with accreditation from the American Camp Association and is also the only accredited camp in Owensboro.

  • Camp begins Monday, April 7, and runs through Friday, April 11.
  • Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Ages range from 5-13.
  • Breakfast and two snacks will be provided throughout the day at camp, but your child will need to bring a sack lunch each day.
  • For the full week the camp will cost $65 per child and for 3 days or less of the camp it will cost $50 per child.
  • The registration deadline is March 28.
  • Campers are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
  • Scholarships are available.
