UPDATE: Two Vehicle Collision at Island Ford Intersection Causes Injuries

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/21/14) — The names of the drivers of the vehicles involved in a Friday morning accident on Island Ford Road in Madisonville have been released.

According to the Madisonville Police Department, Tommie E. Sandefur, 81, of Hanson was traveling east on Island Ford Road in a 2000 white Nissan Maxima and turning left to enter the north bound entrance ramp of the Pennyrile Parkway while Margie Bowery, 45, of Madisonville was traveling west on Island Ford Road in a blue 2008 Toyota Camry.

Bowery and Sandefur collided in the intersection. Both were transported to Baptist Health for evaluation and treatment.

Units from Medical Center Ambulance, Raymond's Wrecker, Capitol Recovery, Madisonville Fire Department and Madisonville Police Department responded.

Patrolman C.P. Haynie was the reporting officer.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/21/14) — At least two people were sent to the hospital after a two-car collision near Pennyrile Parkway Exit 44 on Island Ford Road at about 10:05 a.m. Friday, March 21.

Madisonville Police and Medical Center Ambulance are on the scene.

Details from the accident will be provided as soon as available.
