MADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/2/14) - At a special meeting called Wednesday, the Hopkins County Board of Education set the last day of the 2013-2014 school year for students as Friday, May 30 and Wednesday, June 4 for teachers.
This decision came after the Senate signed House Bill 211 on Monday.
Hopkins County missed 16 days total due to snow, one of which will be waived due to the approval of the bill.In Kentucky, students have to receive 1,062 hours of instructional time and be present 170 days.
The board also approved May 29 as the graduation date for Madisonville North Hopkins High School and May 30 for Hopkins County Central High School.
