Local Students Win at 2014 HOSA Conference

State-HOSA-Winners-2014Tiffany Mitchell and Cashea Rigney (l-r).HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (4/6/14) — Tiffany Mitchell and Cashea Rigney, members of Madisonville Community College's Class of 2014 Radiography class and both from Madisonville, competed at the 2014 Kentucky Health Occupations Students of America Spring Leadership Conference in Louisville March 13 - 15.

Mitchell won first place in the Job Seeking Skills contest. Participants were required to complete an application and be interviewed; scores were earned for professionalism, confidence, knowledge, etc.

Rigney took first place in the Extemporaneous Writing contest earning top points for grammar, the ability to stay on topic, sentence structure, knowledge of topic, etc.

Both students will compete at the HOSA National Leadership Conference held in Orlando, Fla., June 25 - 28.
