MADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/7/14) — Madisonville Police investigated a welfare concern of a Madisonville man that lead to drug trafficking charges Sunday, April 6.
According to the Madisonville Police report, during the officer’s investigation, they learned that Darren Adrian Scott, 41, was staying at the Days Inn Motel and had placed a beach bag into the locker room in the motel.
Madisonville K-9 unit then search the locker room and detected the presence of narcotics. Officers then discovered a Hello Kitty tin box that contained meth from inside the beach bag.
Scott was later located at the Days Inn in room 218, where he consented to a search. Officers then found three and half caplets of Hydrocodone and three plastic straws with suspected meth residue in Scott’s cosmetic bag. He was then taken into custody, where he was searched again and officers found more meth in individual baggies for sale along with $720 in cash inside his left shoe, the report said.
The report also stated that Scott had previously been charged with his first offense back in May of 2011.
Scott was charged with possession of controlled substance, second degree, drug unspecified, drug paraphernalia buy or possess and trafficking in controlled substance, first degree, second offense (meth).He is currently being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
