David Richey Named to First Security Bank Board of Directors

Muhlenberg David RicheyDavid RicheyMUHLENBERG, Ky. (4/25/14) — Clarence Brewer, Jr., chairman of the board for First Security Bank of Kentucky, has announced that David L. Richey has been elected to the board of directors for the bank.

“As Executive Vice President and Central City Office Manager, David has been a vital part in the growth and success of our bank. His leadership and love for the community is second to none” said Chairman Brewer.

Mr. Richey began his banking career in May of 1980 with First National Bank of Central City. While with the bank, he held positions from teller to senior vice president. On the first day of June, 2011 David joined the staff of First Security Bank. During his thirty four year banking career he has also been very involved in the community, serving twenty years as a councilman for the City of Central City, past president for both the Central City Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Muhlenberg Chamber, a member of the Rotary Club, board member of CCYAA and the Labor Day Music Festival. You can also find Dave singing in the choir at First Baptist Church and coaching his grandchildren’s tee ball teams. David is a 1977 graduate of Bremen High School, a 1990 graduate of the Kentucky School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking of the South in 1993. He lives in Central City with his wife, Bonnie. He has two step-children and four grandchildren.

Mike Mercer, President and CEO of FSB, added, “If there is an event in town or a charity in need of fundraising, David is always there to help. He has been a cornerstone of the community and First Security Bank. It is only fitting that he will now be serving as a director of FSB.”

First Security was founded in 1903 in Island, Kentucky. The current ownership opened offices in Greenville in 2010 and 2011 in Central City. For the past five years, FSB has been one of the fastest growing financial institutions in Kentucky seeing its assets increase from 27 million in 2008 to its present 96 million in assets. The full board of directors for the bank consists of Clarence Brewer, Jr., Mike Mercer, Mark Young, Robert Brown, Paul Gabbard, Charles R. Lewis, CPA, Charles Mann, Jr., Winfred Williams and Dennis Kirtley.

Chairman Brewer stated, “Everyone involved with FSB is humbled and proud of the growth we have experienced. We are grateful to our customers and our communities as we look forward to continuing to provide the local, hometown service our customers have grown to expect and deserve.”
