Madisonville Man Injured in Collision While Avoiding Oncoming Vehicle

accident with injuries ambulanceMANITOU, Ky. (4/25/14) — A Madisonville man was injured, when he lost control of his vehicle on wet roads at 6:29 a.m. Friday, April 25 on Kentucky 630 just north of Wolf Hollow Road.

According to a KSP report, Tracy Wood, 53, was driving a 1988 Econoline van south on Kentucky 630 when he met a vehicle traveling north that crossed into the southbound lane and then continued in the middle of the road.

The report said Wood swerved, which caused his vehicle to exit the southbound shoulder of the road, where it made contact with culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn striking a utility pole and coming to final rest upright just off the southbound shoulder of the road facing northwest.

Wood was transported by Medical Center Ambulance to Baptist Regional Medical Center for minor  injuries.

The collision is under investigation by Trooper Ben Sawyer, who was assisted at the scene by Manitou Fire Department and Med-Center Ambulance.
