MADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/27/14) — A Madisonville man has been arrested for the possession and distribution of child pornography by the Madisonville Police Department Electronic Crimes Unit.
According to an MPD report, MPD participates in Operation Broken Heart, a coordinated effort of the national Internet Crimes Against Children task force. The combined efforts of ICAC member agencies lead to tracking and prosecution of those that seek, produce or possess materials of child exploitation.
As a result of an eight-month investigation, the MPD Electronic Crimes Unit obtained a search warrant for the residence of Nevin P. Bard, 50, in reference to the possession and distribution of images and videos of child exploitation. Bard’s residence was search and several electronic items were recovered for processing.
Bard was charged with five counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and five counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, first offense. Both charges are Class D felonies. The investigation is continuing with more charges possible.
Bard is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
