Bevin, a Republican, faces incumbent Mitch McConnell in the May primary election.
The Chamber is scheduling several “Meet the Candidate” events to help the public get to know this year’s political contenders and what they stand for, said President Lee Lingo. The first, held in April, featured a visit from U.S. Sen. Rand Paul.
“As we or our members host these sessions, no endorsements should be implied,” Lingo said. “Our goal is to encourage area voters of all parties to learn as much as they can about those who are asking for their votes.”
Lingo said voter education is part of the Chamber’s mission.
“If we can facilitate these visits, it will be beneficial to our community,” he said. The session is not a luncheon and reservations are not required. For more information, call the Chamber at (270) 821-3435.
