DUE TO HEAVY SNOWS IN WESTERN KENTUCKY...WIDESPREAD 6 TO 12 INCH SNOWFALL AMOUNTS HAVE HAULTED AREA TRAVEL. ISOLATED 15 INCH AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. DRIFTS UP TO A FOOT AND A HALF HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION AND TRAVEL SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. (National Weather Service)

road closed blue 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (5/7/14) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close Kentucky 143 in Webster County Thursday, May 8, 2014.

This closure along Kentucky 143/Diamond-Fishtrap Road at mile point 0.48 is to allow the removal of an abandoned railroad crossing. This is on Kentucky 143 between Kentucky 109 and B.C. Langley Road near the Diamond Community.

Kentucky 143 will close at this site 8:00 a.m., CDT, Thursday. It is expected to reopen around 2:30 p.m.

There will be no marked detour.
