Fourth Annual Madisonville '4thFest' Celebration Continues to Grow

Madville 4th fest 2014MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/8/14) – The Madisonville "4thFest" Committee is pleased to announce that the fourth annual festival continues to grow in popularity and is slated to take place the first week of July.

"4thFest" is Madisonville’s signature Fourth of July celebration and will continue in 2014 as a multi-day event. “These festivities provide quality entertainment and recreational opportunities for those living in and visiting the community,” Mayor David Jackson noted. “The intent from the inception was to create a series of events that would bring the whole region together.”

New to "4thFest" in 2014 will be The iRecycle Regatta slated to take place Saturday, July 5 at the Madisonville City Park swimming pool. Participants will race their boats built of 100 percent recyclable material. Complete contest details will be available in the near future.

Other events scheduled for the 2014 "4thFest" event include:

  • July 1 – Praise in the Park – Featuring several gospel musical acts on the City Park main stage.
  • July 2– Baptist Health Madisonville Outdoor Movie Night at Wellness Park - Featuring “The Lego Movie”.
  • July 4 – Concert in City Park sponsored by First United Bank on the main stage by “The Conch Republic”; Beer Garden hosted by the Madisonville Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce; Fireworks show presented by the City of Madisonville.
  • July 5 – The iRecycle Regatta; Free admission to the Madisonville Miners baseball game at Elmer Kelley Stadium courtesy of the Madisonville Rotary; Noon Kiwanis; and Lions Clubs.

First United Bank President Karen Glenn noted, “All of us at First United Bank are so proud to be a part of the "4thFest" celebration.  We have a great partnership with all of the entities involved. Everyone is totally committed to making it a great event for our community.”
