Beautiful-ThouhgtsBeautiful Thoughts (Screenshot via facebook/RepEdWhitfield)WASHINGTON (5/13/14) — U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield posted the entries for the 2014 Congressional Art Competition on his official Facebook page last week.

The art competition will determine the high school student that will represent Kentucky’s First Congressional District in the 2014 Congressional Art Competition in Washington.

Each entry is still available to be viewed by “liking” Congressman Whitfield’s Facebook page at facebook.com/RepEdWhitfield.

After “liking” the page, visit the “2014 Congressional Art Competition” album, which will be pinned to the top of Whitfield’s Facebook timeline. Participants are encouraged to get their friends and family members to “like” their art to show support for their entry.

The final winner will be determined by a panel of local art experts who will judge the artwork on various criteria. The winner and a guest will be invited to attend the Congressional Art Competition Reception on Capitol Hill being held in late June, 2014. The winners of the art competition will be announced this Friday, May 16, 2014.

“Every day as I pass these works of art on my way to the Capitol, I continue to be impressed with our young people’s talent,” stated Whitfield. “It is truly an honor for a student to have their work exhibited in Washington and I am pleased to have these fine entries on my official Facebook page.”
