HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (6/2/14) — The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department responded to vehicle thefts Saturday, May 31 on 2555 Anton Road.
According to a Hopkins County Sheriff report, Deputy LyDon Logan was advised from victims Sawyer Smith and Jacob Arnold that Bobby Allen Kittinger, 39, of Madisonville, had come into their place of employment asking for a drink of water. Kittinger was then given some water and exited the business and left the property towards the woods.
Shortly after, the employees entered their vehicles, they noticed sunglasses valued at $200 and an amplifier valued at $300 were taken. They then drove the trails behind the property and discovered some mud on the road-way from the 4-wheeler Kittinger was driving, the report said.
Once Logan arrived on the scene, the employees took him on the route Kittinger took on the 4-wheeler, which led to Lamb Road. As they reached Lamb Road, another employee flagged them down and advised Logan that a white male that has stolen some property was walking in the wood line of Pond River on Collier Road near Anton Road, according to the report.
The report also said after locating Kittinger, Logan found the sunglasses in his possession along with a stolen cell phone, fish depth finder and other stolen articles that the Madisonville Police Department have been looking for.
Kittinger was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property under $10,000 and being a persistent felony offender.He is currently lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
