One-Vehicle Accident Results in DUI Arrest

DUI ARREST3 300CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (6/15/14) — The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury collision on U.S. 431 North at 2:02 a.m. Sunday, June 15.

According to a KSP report, an investigation revealed that 35-year-old Daressa Jones of Sacramento was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze northbound on U.S. 431 when she failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to exit the right side of the roadway.

As the vehicle exited the roadway it struck a tree and then a fire hydrant, where it came to final rest.  Jones was transported to Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Jones was wearing her seatbelt.  Ms. Jones was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol and was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center after being released from the hospital.

Trooper Jacob Fortney investigated the collision and was assisted by the Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS.
