Major Charles Shockley Retires from Madisonville Police

shockCharles 'Chuck' ShockleyMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/1/14) — The Madisonville Police Department said good-bye to one of their most respected officers, Major Charles 'Chuck' Shockley Tuesday, July 1.

After 24 years of service, Shockley will transfer from the Madisonville Police Department to work alongside the current City Administrative Officer, Mike Franklin at city hall. Shockley will be officially sworn into the position on Oct. 1.

“It’s been an honor to work with everyone here,” said Shockley. “I’m about to live my dream.”

Shockley holds a Bachelor of Human Services degree from Murray State University, and is a graduate of the Criminal Justice Executive Development Program, Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville as well as the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
