shoplifting-arrestMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/3/14) — Madisonville Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart Wednesday, July 2.

According to the Madisonville Police report, officers made contact with a Loss Prevention associate and were advised that two adult females, mother and daughter, were being detained in the office for shoplifting.

The associate explained to officers, that Loriann Lawson, 42, of Earlington and Carrieann Osmer, 24, of Earlington were in the electronics department selecting movies. Both Lawson and Osmer proceeded to the back aisle of the men’s department, where Osmer ripped tags off a purse that she had not purchased and concealed several items in.

Lawson and Osmer then proceeded to the furniture department and discarded the packaging’s of the items in the purse. They then continued to the front door, passing the points of sale and attempted to exit.

The report said that Lawson and Osmer were stopped and asked to produce all concealed merchandise. Initially, they said they didn’t have anything, but became compliant and returned $137.42 worth of merchandise.
