woodsonMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/8/14) — Madisonville Police responded to a child neglect complaint call at Days Inn Monday, July 7.

According to the Madisonville Police report, officers were advised that a 4-year old juvenile had been wondering the halls, while the mother, Denitra Woodson, 20, Franklin, Ind., sat at the bar drinking. Officers then located Woodson and could smell a strong alcohol odor emitting from her, the report said.

Woodson advised officers that her cousin was upstairs with her child. When officers went upstairs to investigate, they found a male subject intoxicated. He told police that he had just entered the room and was unaware there was a child in the room. Officers found, that he had no relation to Woodson or the child, the report said

The report said when officers told Woodson she was being placed under arrest, she began to resist by throwing her arms around and striking officers, causing minor injuries. Officers eventually deployed the use of a taser and Woodson was placed under arrest.

Woodson was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, two counts of third-degree assault, resisting arresting, disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication and third-degree terroristic threatening.

She is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
