MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/22/14) — The Madisonville Police Department is seeking the public's help in cracking down on a recent spree of vandalism throughout the city.
According to a press release from Lt. Jason Lutz, complaints of suspects throwing rocks through windows of buildings, residences and vehicles has been occurring throughout the city. The acts of vandalism appear to be random and not isolated incidents, the report said.
Lutz stated the department is operating under the assumption there are multiple suspects, and is asking the public to help apprehend them by reporting any suspicious activity. Any information may be forwarded to MPD Lt. Charles Young at (270) 821-1720. Tips may also be made through Hopkins County Crime Stoppers at (270) 825-1111.
The damages to property is amounting to thousands of dollars, according to MPD. City residents should expect increased police patrols and contacts from officers during this time.A reward is available to anyone with information that leads to the apprehension of the suspects, the report said.
